Product/Game Designer

What we are looking for

We're looking for individuals with an unstoppable mentality who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. Working here won't be easy—it's not a 9-5 role in a big company.   • Min. 2 years experience in building user experiences across multiple platforms (mobile, web, discord)
  • Logical problem solver with attention to detail
  • Independent, adaptable & take full ownership of projects
  • Strong knowledge in games
  • Obsessively driven: you're someone who's relentless, hungry to learn
  • Scrappy: you get things done despite limited resources or circumstances going against you
  • Hands-on: Looking to get your hands dirty in all parts of the company
  • Has eye for design, detail oriented, proactive, strong judgment, problem solver, resourceful, collaborative, responsive, awareness of style, user oriented, conscientious

This role will continuously evolve as the company grows.

Responsibilities:

  • Improve existing designs
  • Propose design solutions, improvements & ideas
  • Understand what users want and create solutions for that
  • Catch faults on designs and improve them
  • Create design that works in all kinds of devices
  • Communicate design decisions based on principles (Gestalt, heuristics, accessibility, etc…) and data
  • Enhance the interaction and experience between user and product
  • Create prototypes, layouts, skins, themes etc.. in line with Colonist branding
  • Utilize various techniques (e.g. user interviews, A/B tests, usage analysis, trend spotting) to identify player needs
  • Communicate with front-end developers for feature implementations
  • Understand Colonist goals & prioritize scope of work
  • Update and maintain design systems
  • Oversee the end-to-end development of designs
  • Up-to-date with competitor analysis and trends in the gaming industry

Tools:

  • Mainly work with: Figma, Photoshop, Discord, Github, Game UI Database
